Welcome to my Portfolio--"Ambient..."
Take a journey through my camera's lens. See the world from a different perspective--through another's eyes. The photographs that follow are meant to show only beauty--whether natural or created. There are no special effects, no digital "enhancements," only a moment in time and space recorded in silver halide. A good photograph should not need "enhancements"--just the ability to see the beauty of your subject and a little bit of luck!
This is by no means a complete collection of my photography--I have boxes of prints, slides, and negatives stored in various places--these are just the few I have chosen to display to the World! Photography is a very wasteful Art--you can shoot a whole roll of film and only have one "Keeper." I bracket all my shots (one shot is at correct exposure, one under-exposed, and one over-exposed)--this means that on a 36 exposure roll of film, I only have photographs of twelve different subjects! Out of each set of three photographs, I select the best one--that's 24 exposures "wasted" already! Out of the twelve remaining photographs, I may only like one or two! Eighty to ninety percent of the photographs I take are never seen by anyone but me, however, the remaing 10-20% are (in my humble opinion!) beautiful photographs and worth showing off to the world! The downside is that 80 to 90% of the time, energy, and money I spend on photography is "wasted"--the upside is that I enjoy it regardless and consider it "well spent!"
Well, I hope you enjoy my work--my only request is that you please sign my Guestbook! Let everyone know you were here and tell them what your favorite print is! There are links to the Guestbook on this page, my "About Me" page, and after the last photograph--"Dark Spire."

"Photography records the gamut of feelings written on the human face, the beauty of the earth and skies that man has inherited, and the wealth and confusion man has created. It is a major force in explaining man to man."
